The Doctors of Cincinnati Dental Services - Mt. Auburn
Steven C. Jones, D.D.S. General Dentist Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of Cincinnati Dental Services. A 1976 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Dentistry, Dr. Jones also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Ohio State in 1974. He joined C.D.S. in 1991 and serves as Managing Doctor of the Mt. Auburn and Eastgate offices. Dr. Jones is a native of Portsmouth, Ohio and a graduate of Northwest High School in McDermott, Ohio. Following dental school, he served for three years as a Captain and Dental Officer in the U. S. Army Dental Corps stationed at LaFlamme Army Dental Clinic, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. While in the Army Dental Corps, Dr. Jones served as Chief of General Dentistry at LaFlamme Army Dental Clinic and provided care for the elite units of the 82nd Airborne Division, Special Forces, Army Rangers, and Delta Force. He also completed 960 hour specialty rotations under the guidance of Army Dental Corps specialists in each of the areas of Oral Surgery, Endodontics, Fixed Prosthodontics, and Removable Prosthodontics. While at Ft. Bragg, he also served as President of the Junior Officers Council of Ft. Bragg Dental Activities. Dr. Jones was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service in 1979. Following discharge from the Army, he practiced for twelve years in suburban Columbus, Ohio prior to joining C.D.S. While practicing in Columbus, he was awarded the Columbus Dental Assistants Society "Boss of the Year" Award for 1980. Dr. Jones also served as Secretary, Vice President, and President of the Hocking Valley Dental Society and as a member of the Ohio Dental Association Council on Communication and Marketing Services from 1984 to 1988. He serves on the American Dental Association's Publications Review Panel, and he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Eastland Career Center Dental Assisting Program in Columbus for four years. His professional affiliations include the Cincinnati Dental Society, the Ohio Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Dental Group Practice, the Ohio State University College of Dentistry Alumni Association, and the O.K.I. Study Club. Dr. Jones is licensed in Ohio and Kentucky. His areas of special interest include dental practice management and endodontics. Dr. Jones and his wife enjoy traveling, reading, concerts, theatre, and sports including the Reds, Bengals, Buckeyes, and Bearcats.
Connie D. Gawrych, D.D.S. General Dentist - Pediatric Dentistry A 1988 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Her hometown is Steubenville, Ohio, and she is a graduate of Wintersville High School in Wintersville, Ohio. She completed undergraduate studies at Steubenville University and Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1984. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Gawrych completed an Advanced General Dentistry Program at Ohio State before entering private practice. She joined C.D.S. in July, 1990 and quickly developed a love for pediatric dentistry. Dr. Gawrych left C.D.S. in 1998 to join a pediatric dental practice in Cincinnati. She returned in 2002 after four years practicing pediatric dentistry under the guidance of a pediatric dental specialist (pedodontist) and became the director of our Pediatric Dentistry Department. Dr. Gawrych is a member of the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. She has advanced training in straight wire orthodontics. Dr. Gawrych enjoys reading, scrapbooks, traveling, crafts, and spending time with her daughter.
Jeffrey W. Crawford, D.M.D. General Dentist A 1985 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and has been practicing in southwestern Ohio his entire career. Dr. Crawford is a native of Uniontown, Pennsylvania where he attended Laurel Highlands High School, and he also received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Crawford is affiliated with the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. He has a special interest in endodontics and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Crawford is married with two sons. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his son's basketball teams, exercising, and camping. He and his family live in Warren County.
Maria I. Bustamante, D.M.D. General Dentist Maria graduated cum laude from the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry (Class of 2004), and she also received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from U.K. in 1999. She is a native of Ecuador and a graduate of Stella Maris High School in Manta, Ecuador. Prior to joining C.D.S., Dr. Bustamante completed a General Practice Residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Bustamante is licensed in Illinois, Kentucky, and Ohio. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Illinois Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association, and the Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Bustamante's areas of special interest are oral diagnosis, oral surgery, and fixed prosthodontics. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, tennis, golf, traveling, dancing, and exercising.
Jane E. Huesman, D.D.S. General Dentist Jane has been a member of the C.D.S. staff since 1993. She is a 1987 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Dentistry with an undergraduate degree in zoology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Dr. Huesman is a native Cincinnatian. She is a graduate of Anderson High School. Prior to joining C.D.S. she practiced in Cincinnati for six years as an associate in another practice. Dr. Huesman's areas of special interest include restorative and cosmetic dentistry. She is a member of the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. In her free time she enjoys crafting, reading, traveling, shopping and cooking. She is married and the mother of two daughters.

Gerald G. Arnett, D.M.D. General Dentist Gerald serves as Clinical Director of our Landen office. A 1975 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, Dr. Arnett has been on staff since 1998. He is a native of Dayton, Ohio and a graduate of Dayton Fairview High School. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to joining C.D.S., Dr. Arnett was in private practice in Norwood, Ohio for 22 years and also served on the staff of the Cincinnati Health Department for 10 years. Dr. Arnett is a member of the Cincinnati Dental Society, the Ohio Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the O.KI. Dental Study Club. He is married with two children.
Matthew W. Mangino, D.M.D. General Dentist Matthew is a 2009 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. A native of Paducah, Kentucky, Dr. Mangino received his undergraduate degree in finance from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky after graduating from St. Mary High School in Paducah. He has a special interest in prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, endodontics, and oral surgery. Dr. Mangino is a member of the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. Anthony Pio A. Philips, D.D.S. General Dentist Anthony is a 1997 graduate of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in Morgantown, West Virginia. At graduation he was honored for special achievements by the American Academy of Orolfacial Pain, The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the American Equilibration Society. He joined Cincinnati Dental Services in 1998. Dr. Philips is from Toronto, Ontario, Canada where he graduated from Burnhamthorpe Collegiate High School. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Following dental school, Dr. Philips completed a General Practice Residency as well as advanced training in oral surgery at West Virginia University Hospitals. He has a special interest in oral surgery and prosthodontics. His is a member of the American Association of Hospital Dentists, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. Dr. Philips is also a member of Clinical Research Associates, an independent organization based in Provo, Utah, that evaluates dental materials and products. He serves as a guest lecturer for the Dental Hygiene Programs at the University of Cincinnati Raymond Walters College and the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. Dr. Philips is single and enjoys traveling, tennis, and biking in his spare time.
Kelly L. Privett, D.D.S. General Dentist Kelly is a 2006 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. She joined Cincinnati Dental Services following her graduation. Dr. Privett is a native Cincinnatian. She is a graduate of Ursuline Academy in Blue Ash, and she received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Cincinnati. Her professional affiliations include the American Dental Association and the OKI Dental Study Club. She is a Certified Invisalign Provider. Dr. Privett has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry. In her spare time she enjoys board games, knitting, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and son.

Abdul J. Abro, B.D.S. General Dentist Abdul joined Cincinnati Dental Services in the summer of 2008. A native of Pakistan, he received his dental degree in 1985 from Liaquat Medical College in Jamshoro, Pakistan. Dr. Abro practiced general dentistry in Pakistan from 1986 until 1997. After becoming a U.S. citizen, he completed a residency in endodontics at the New York University College of Dentistry. He subsequently completed one-year general practice residencies at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, St. Lukes Hospital in Cleveland, and SUMMA Health System in Akron. Dr. Abro enjoys provided care in all phases of general dentistry. He is a member of the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. In his free time, Dr. Abro enjoys walking and volleyball. He and his wife and two children live in the West Chester area.
Larry S. Faust, D.D.S. General Dentist Larry is President and a member of the Board of Directors of Cincinnati Dental Services. He joined C.D.S. in 1974 following his graduation from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry, and he has practiced at C.D.S. his entire career. Dr. Faust currently serves as the Managing Doctor of our Fairfield and White Oak offices. He is licensed in Ohio and Kentucky. A Cincinnati native, Dr. Faust is a graduate of Walnut Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati (B.S. Biology, 1970). Dr. Faust has been instrumental in the growth of C.D.S. from one office in the early 1990's to our current six locations. In the late 70's, he developed and implemented training programs for some of the first Expanded Function Dental Auxiliaries in Ohio. He is a member of the American Academy of Dental Group Practice and a founding member of the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. Dr. Faust's areas of special interest and expertise include group practice management and removable prosthodontics. His hobbies include sports and traveling. He is married with one son.
Jennifer E. Taylor, D.D.S. General Dentist Jennifer is a native Cincinnatian and a graduate of Mt. Notre Dame High School. She received an undergraduate degree in dental hygiene from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1994 and remained at Ohio State to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998. Following dental school, she served as a dental officer in the U.S. Air Force for five years. During her service she completed an Air Force Advanced Education in General Dentistry program. Following discharge from the Air Force, Dr. Taylor practiced in a suburb of Lexington, Kentucky for two years prior to joining C.D.S. in 2006. Dr. Taylor is licensed in both Ohio and Kentucky. She is a member of the O.K.I. Dental Study Club and has a special interest in oral surgery and pediatric dentistry. She is married with one son and two daughters. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, running, and photography.
Gail A. Donnelly Payne, D.D.S. General Dentist Gail is a 1979 graduate of the Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee and a member of the C.D.S. staff since 1999. She received her undergraduate degree in communications from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. She is a native of Youngstown, Ohio and graduated from Youngstown North High School. Prior to joining C.D.S., Dr. Payne practiced in Athens, Ohio from 1980 to 1993, in New York City from 1993 to 1996, and was Dental Director of the Lincoln Heights Healthcare Connection from 1996 to 1999. She is a member of the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. Dr. Payne is married to an Episcopal priest and is the mother of a son and a daughter.
Kristin J. Duffy, D.M.D. General Dentist Kristin J. Duffy is a 2008 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She is a native of Louisville where she attended Louisville Male Traditional High School and received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Louisville in 2004. Dr. Duffy joined the Cincinnati Dental Services staff in 2009. Her professional affiliations include the American Dental Association and the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. She has a special interest in endodontics. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading, attending movies, plays, and concerts as well as traveling. She also enjoys belly dancing and other forms of dance.

R. Scott Kemper, D.D.S. General Dentist Scott is a member of the Cincinnati Dental Services Advisory Board and the Managing Doctor of our Eastgate Office. He is a 1977 graduate of the Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry, and he completed his undergraduate studies in Biology at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Kemper is a native Cincinnatian and a graduate of St. Xavier High School. He joined C.D.S. following graduation from dental school in1977 and has practiced at C.D.S. his entire career. Dr. Kemper is a founding member of the O.K.I. Dental Study Club, and he has received advanced training in general practice periodontics. He worked with Proctor and Gamble in the development of the perio fibers method for treating periodontal disease. Dr. Kemper's areas of special interest include periodontics and forensic dentistry. He is a volunteer for the Hamilton County, Ohio Coroner's Identification Team. During his spare time, Dr. Kemper is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling and reading. He is married and the father of three adult children and the grandfather of two.
Elizabeth K. Johnson, D.D.S. General Dentist Elizabeth joined Cincinnati Dental Services in 2006. She is a 2006 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. She received her undergrad degree in Zoology from Miami University. Dr. Johnson is a native of Upper Arlington, Ohio where she attended Upper Arlington High School, and is a second generation dental professional. Her professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, the Cincinnati Dental Society, and the O.K. I. Dental Study Club. She has a special interest in prosthetic dentistry, including implants, crowns, bridges, dentures and partials. Dr. Johnson really enjoys treating children of all ages. Dr. Johnson devotes a generous amount of time to her family, including her identical twin sons Calvin and Elias (born in 2008). She enjoys physical fitness, cooking and baking, being outdoors, and attending OSU football games. Dr. Johnson and her family also love caring for their mixed breed dog, Nemo. Go Buckeyes!
Valerie M. Watson, D.D.S. General Dentist Valerie is a 2006 graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University College of Dentistry. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and she is a graduate of Waverly Central High School in Waverly, Tennessee. Dr. Watson is licensed in Kentucky, Ohio, and Virginia. Prior to joining Cincinnati Dental Services in 2008, Dr. Watson practiced with Commonwealth Dental Associates in the Bowling Green, Kentucky area. Her professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. She has a special interest in pediatric dentistry as well the role dental patient education and prevention plays in maintaining a healthy body. Outside the office Dr. Watson enjoys long distance running, cooking, collecting cookbooks, and reading. She is married and the mother of two sons.

Mitisha N. Martin, D.M.D. General Dentist Mitisha is a 2008 graduate of the University of Louisville College of Dentistry. Her career in dentistry began as a dental assistant in 1994, and she served in that capacity until entering dental school in 2004. A native of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Dr. Martin is a graduate of Bowling Green Senior High School, and she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Western Kentucky University in 2002. Prior to joining Cincinnati Dental Services in 2009, Dr. Martin practiced in Louisville, Kentucky. She is licensed in both Ohio and Kentucky. Dr. Martin currently holds the rank of captain in the Kentucky National Guard and serves as a dental officer in her unit headquartered in Lexington. Her professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, the National Dental Association, and the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. She also serves on the Health and Wellness Board of her church, and she has done missionary work in several foreign countries. She has special interest in pediatric dentistry. Paul P. Filipkowski, D.D.S. General Dentist Paul is a 1971 graduate of the Georgetown University School of Dentistry. He is a native of Whately, Massachusetts. He graduated from Frontier Regional High School in South Deerfield, Massachusetts and received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Tufts College in Medford, Massachusetts. Dr. Filipkowski joined C.D.S. in 1996 following twenty years in solo private practice in Middletown, Ohio. Prior to that he served in U.S. Navy Dental Corps for two years. Dr. Filipkowski is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. He enjoys practicing all phases of general dentistry, and he has been a volunteer dentist in Nicaragua and with the Indian Health Service in New Mexico. His hobbies include landscaping, geology, art, and Native American culture. He is married with four sons.

Scott D. Robinson, D.M.D. General Dentist Scott is a 1994 graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry in Lexington. He has been a member of the C.D.S. staff since 2000 and serves as the Clinical Director of the Edgewood office. Dr. Robinson is a native of Lexington where he graduated from Henry Clay High School and received his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining Cincinnati Dental Services he practiced in Alabama and Kentucky. He is licensed in Alabama, Kentucky, and Ohio. Dr. Robinson is a member of the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. Dr. Robinson is married and in his spare time he enjoys archery and attending his son's basketball games and his daughter's archery competitions.
Alexis M. Mai, D.M.D. General Dentist Alexis is a 1997 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry. A native of Vietnam, Dr. Mai and her family immigrated to the United States in 1975. Her hometown is Robinson, Pennsylvania, and she is a graduate of United High School in Armagh, Pennsylvania. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1993. Prior to joining Cincinnati Dental Services in early 2006, she practiced for six years with Chestnut Hills Dental in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Dr. Mai is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Kentucky. Her professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Association of Women Dentists, and the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. Dr. Mai has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics and has completed advanced training in Invisalign orthodontics, functional orthopedics, and orthodontics. Dr. Mai is married, and in her spare time she enjoys tennis, exercising, reading, and sewing.
G. Kevin Thompson, D.M.D. General Dentist Kevin is a 1975 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Thompson is a native of Louisville, KY where he attended Flaget High School. He received his undergraduate degree majoring in Biology from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. Prior to joining Cincinnati Dental Services, Dr. Thompson practiced for thirty years in Pleasureville and Shelbyville, Kentucky. He is licensed in Kentucky as well as the African countries of Kenya and Tanzania. His professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association, the Louisville Dental Society, the American Orthodontic Society, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. While Dr. Thompson enjoys all areas of dentistry, he has a special interest in creating better smiles with orthodontic treatment and cosmetic dentistry. His nonprofessional interests include serving as a church youth group leader, golf, and University of Louisville Cardinals athletics. For several years Dr. Thompson has provided dental care as a part of missionary work in Africa. He is married with three daughters and two grandchildren.

Richard D. Kruer, D.M.D. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Richard is a 1983 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and a 1987 graduate of The Brooklyn Hospital Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program. He received his undergraduate degree in zoology from the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Dr. Kruer is a native of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky where he graduated from Highlands High School. He has been with C.D.S. since 2005 after practicing for many years as a solo Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Greater Cincinnati. He is licensed Kentucky and Ohio. Dr. Kruer's professional affiliations include the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Kentucky Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Kentucky Medical Association. He served as President of the Kentucky Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons from 1994 to 1996. Dr. Kruer has advanced training in the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders in addition to the placement of numerous dental implant systems. He enjoys travel, especially cruising, and is an avid "O" guage model railroad buff. He also enjoys making pottery. Dr. Kruer is married and the father of two daughters and two sons.
Harish K. Malyala, D.D.S. Endodontist Harish joined CDS and Dental Specialists of Cincinnati in 2006 after receiving his Certificate in Endodontics from the New York University College of Dentistry. Dr. Malyala also received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from NYU in 2003. Following dental school he completed an internship and general practice residency at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. While at St. Francis, he was awarded the "Resident of the Year" award. Dr. Malyala is a native of Kollapur, India where he graduated from Ghandi Memorial High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Sri Sarvodaya College in Nellore, India in 1991. Prior to coming to the United States, Dr. Malyala completed an internship at Ame's Dental College at Galburga University in India and practiced for two years at Mahaveer Dental Hospital. Dr. Malyala is a member of the American Association of Endodontists and the O.K.I. Dental Study Club. He is married, and in his spare time he enjoys watching science and history programs.
